We now work out of our design space located at The Tannery in Christchurch, New Zealand. Here, bordered by Bakers, Brewers, Jewellers and Baristas we chat with our customers, drink good coffee and create Alchemy Equipment.

How we produce our range is important to us, and we maintain deep relationships with our vendors (some approaching 25 years of working together - albeit in previous businesses), and we only work with like-minded people we trust.

Our network is developed with concern of social responsibility, working conditions in our factories and sustainability - currently 90-95% of our production is with a SMETA or WRAP certified facility, and we are targeting to have every production facility audited and compliant to these standards. Our supply chain is intentionally narrow and deep, which allows a greater focus on ensuring consistency and quality of production. We work with a more diverse group of material suppliers, the common link is innovative quality, and the shared objective of sustainable, fair and clean production. The majority of current materials we use are Bluesign and/or Oeko-Tex certified, with knitwear using wool from RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) suppliers, our merino is mulesing-free, we source RDS (Responsible Down Standard) down, and where possible, use organically grown cotton.

Perhaps our most fundamental objective is to build our products so that the cradle to grave cycle is long. You should own and use an Alchemy Equipment product for a long time. Not only do we build to this philosophy, we design to it. This is why you don't see us slavishly following fleeting fashion trends- we favour a more timeless approach to building a wardrobe for staple, classic pieces.
